Capitol Dome Tour etc.

Today I got to go on a Capitol Dome tour.  This takes you to the very top of the Capitol dome.  It was a little scary at first but I am really glad that I decided to do it.  I had to walk up about 300 stairs!  I was planning on working out later today, but my legs are still shaky.  I also sat in on a committee hearing.  For those of you that remember the cedarville creeper photographer...well the person taking pictures today reminded me of him.  I am not sure what scrunching down on the floor near someones desk is going to accomplish, but it was funny.  It has been raining here for the last couple of days and I forgot my umbrella, so needless to say the commute to my internship has been interesting.  Yesterday I got to give another tour.  I lost track of time so as a result the capitol was virtually empty.  It was a great experience. Did you know there is a tornado warning in your district?

I have been at Congressman Tiberi's office for almost three weeks.  My days have been really busy, and by the time I am done all I want to do is sleep.  Here are some highlights of what I've been up to the past few weeks.  I am currently settled into my office and have given my first capitol tour.  I have seen most of the monuments and some of the Smithsonian's.  I have ridden the Metro successfully by myself!  Living in DC is not what I expected.  I am sorry to say, but I have gotten used to being at Cedarville and DC is nothing like it.  I think I have found a church...Its right down the street from where I live.  I hope to be updating everyone on a more regular basis in the future.

5 days till "DC" day

I have writers block for the last paper before DC, so I thought it would be a good idea to post an update.  I am five days away from leaving for DC and am freaking out.  I am afraid I will forget to pack something or get lost on the Metro.  We finally found out who we are rooming with, so that is one less thing to worry about.  My biggest dilemma right now is what kind of planner I should get.  Seriously I spent like fifteen minutes in the book store the other day and could not decide on one.  I think I am just going to wait until I get to DC to buy one.  I was reading the intern housing rules and realized that we are not allowed to hang up anything on the walls, so I am trying to think of another way that I can decorate without using the walls.  Here is a link to what the intern housing looks like: http://www.heritage.org/About/Internships-Young-Leaders/Intern-Housing-Pictures here is a picture of where I will be working: http://www.aoc.gov/cc/cobs/chob_1.cfm
I love you all!

7 Days and Counting...

WELCOME!
This is my first post.  I am not in DC yet, but I thought I would test out the blog and see if it works.  I am at Cedarville right now doing getting started.  Tonight is the big night for the Freshmen!  I am excited to meet all of them and show them the ropes at Cedarville.  It seems funny to be at school and not having to unpack and arrange my room.  I have had so much free time in the past three days...I am really starting to feel lazy.  There is one more paper to write for class before I arrive in our nations Capitol.  I have not started packing yet, but that is not much of a surprise to those who know me : )  I am enjoying the time that I have spent with friends so far.  I will miss you all and will try to keep in touch as much as possible!
